Valve – tire safety “guard”

Tire valve is a one-way valve used for filling and discharging tire gas and maintaining tire pressure. This part is very small, but it is related to the driving safety of the car.

According to the material, tire valves can be divided into rubber valves and metal valves; according to the installation method, they can be divided into snap valve, compression valve and adhesive valve; according to the type of tire, they can be divided into tube valve and tubeless valve. In recent years, with the wide application of TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system), TPMS special valve instead of traditional valve has become a new growth point.

So, how does the valve ensure the air tightness of the tire?

1. Valve core seal: the valve core is one of the core components of the valve. By pressing the valve core, we can easily inflate and deflate the tire.

2. Valve cap seal: the valve cap is divided into common dust cap and sealing cap. The common dust cap only has dust-proof function; when the sealing cap is tightened, the rubber pad at the top of the valve stem and the bottom of the cap is pressed and sealed to realize the dual functions of dust-proof and air tightness.

3. Sealing of valve base and rim hole: rubber valve is sealed by close fitting of rubber base and rim hole; metal valve is locked by nut and sealed by rubber pad or O-ring.
